Georgetown Area Public Library
Library Board Meeting - May 2, 1984, 10:00 A.M.
Members present: Seever, Williams, Weir, Elliott, Philpot
Mrs. Barbara Seever called the meeting to order. The minutes of the
previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Williams gave a report on the Library finances, as follows:

Mrs. Philpot gave a report on her shopping for new shelves. Mrs Seever
authorized Mrs Philpot to order and spend what the Library needs at this
time. It will cost $10,000.00 to buy the necessary stacks. Mr. Williams
will arrange for transfer of $4,479.37 to a fund available for this expense.
Mrs. Seever asked for a volunteer to check on the ordinance pertaining to
the return of ' overdue books. A letter was mailed to the City, and no
information has been received.
For the Summer Reading Program we will have a pre-school storyhour presented
by Kimberly Keller and a school -age storyh6ur conducted by Mrs. Petty. The
programs will be held on Thursday mornings at 10:00 A.M.
Jo Ann Bowline is moving to New York, and we will have a covered dish
luncheon for her on Wednesday, May 9, at 12:00 noon in the Library conference
room.
The Library needs a telephone in the back room, but we did not have a
quorum to vote on the purchase of same.
Linda Scarbrough will print a column written by Barbara Seever each month
in the "Williamson County Sun."
Mr. Williams announced that he can no longer be our Treasurer.
"The Friends of the Library" do not seem to be operating, and we need to
learn whether or not they would like to disband or reorganize.
The meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be on June 6, 1984 at 10:00 A.M.
