Members Present: Marjorie Youngman, Gwen Morrison, Winfred Bonner, Harry Gold, Dorian Sullivan,Parker McCollough, Verne Philpot Old Business: The Budget Committee was unable to get together before today's meeting (March 6, 1985). They will try to have a proposed 1985-86 budget before the next Board Meeting on April 3, 1985. Leo Wood addressed the Board concerning available land for the Library and the feasibility of hiring an architect for building plans. The two properties available are: (1) Old Town Park on Austin Ave. (2) Electric Dept. by the sheds Gwen Morrison moved we go before the City Council on March 12th, informing the Council of the Board's plans to hire an architect with Building Fund monies, and requesting that the Library be placed on a bond election if we have one the first part of May. Motion was seconded and carried. New Business: Plan to employ local architect, if possible. Contact Mr. Gooch as to his willingness to work with the Board as a consultant on the building project. Financial Report: Read and accepted. Discussion on possibility of obtaining grants. Parker McCollough will check with Leo Wood on possible grants. Marjorie Youngman will check on H & B Foundation.
