HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_LAB_04.03.1985Georgetown Area Public Library Library Board Meeting - April 3, 1985 - 11:00 A.M. Members Present: Marjorie Youngman, Verne Philpot, Winfred Bonner, Dorian Sullivan, Parker McCollough, Gwen Morrison, Nancy Benold Visitor: Mr. Gooch from State Library Old Business: Due to the fact that the City chose to issue Certificates of Obligation rather than have a bond election, Parker and Harry Gold decided it was not necessary to appear before the City Council on March 12. It was suggested that for next month's Board Meeting that we use City van to take a field trip to observe possible City sites for Library location. Parker will make arrangements. New Business: Mr. Gooch informed us that 50% of assessed value of current Library building will have to be paid back to Federal Government if present Library building is vacated. Mr. Gooch also addressed Title II grant program. With only $50,000 available at this time, our chances for the $100,000 grant are very slim. Financial Report: Monthly report read and accepted. Proposed 1985-86 Budget presented and approved. Marjorie Youngman reported on H.E.B. Foundation. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 noon. The next meeting will be May 1, 1985 at 11:00 A.M. 40 1 Respectfully submitted, Dorian Sullivan, Secretary ds/kb 0
