Library Board Meeting - September 2, 1986 at 12:00 noon
Members Present: Nancy Snead, Verne Philpot, Dorian Sullivan, Linda Davis,
Parker McCollough, Gwen Morrison, Nancy Benold, Winfred Bonner
Architect Present: Bill Hidell
Computer Consultant Present: Bob Walton
Old Business:
1. Minutes approved as submitted with the exception of changing July 5 to
August 5.
2. City approved budget as proposed.
3. Winfred Bonner reported that Mrs. Langdon may co-operate with the city
on her property at northwest corner of the new library site.
New Business:
1. Parker introduced Bob Walton, who is automation consultant for the
Texas State Library.
Computer system will provide:
a. circulation control
b. better cataloguing
c. keep delinquent borrowers from continuing to abuse privileges.
d. all of the computerization can and should be done before moving to
new building.
2. Bill Hidell reviewed the current plans.
Meeting adjourned at 2:00 P. M.
