Library Board Meeting - November 4, 1986 at 12c00 noon
Members Present:: Verne Philpot, Linda Davis, Parker McCullough,
Gwen Morrison, Marjorie Herbert, Nancy Snead,
Nancy Benold, Marjorie Youngman
Architects Presents Bill Hidel.l, Greg Ibanez
Guest: :Bale Ricklefs, Librarian, Round Rock Public Library
Old Business
1. Minutes approved as submitted.
2. Gwen Morrison reported application to IBM for $5,000 grant has
been submitted, withtheirresponse expected by end of November.
3. Nancy Snead attended OILS legislative breakfast October 8th.
Apparently the state will fund the library system in the amount
sufficient to qualify for federal matching funds.
4. bale Ricklefs reviewed the Literacy Program. Georgetown will house
anad circulate materials which will be available under a special
card system and made available to any participant in the county
Literacy program
5.'-17 er-"ee: Linda Davis, Gwen. Morrison, Parker McCollough appointed
to develop a plan for a user fee, looking toward. January 1, 1987
to begin the program,
New Business.
1. Project Manager and Director of Library Services: Marjorie Herbert
offered motion to seek an employee to fill the position of Project
Manager and Director of Library Services, and to provide funds for
the advertising of this position. Nancy Benold seconded motion
which carried unanimously. A copy of advertisement is attached.
. Mr. Hidell and Greg Ibanez reported 130 sets of plans have been
printed with 28 general contractors having paid deposits, indicating
intention to bid.
3. The 22ening of bids will be held November 1.7, 1986 at 2:00 P.M.
in the City Council Chambers.
4. the Library Board will meet with city officials and architects
November 24, 1986 at 12s00 Noon at the Library to consider bids.
