Library Board Meeting - November 24, 1986 at 12:00 noon
Members Present: Nancy Benold, Winfred Bonner, Marjorie Youngman,
Parker McCollough, Linda Davis
Architects Present: Greg Ibanez
Guest: Bob Gaylor, City Manager
Hartley Sappington, Director Community Services
Old Business:
1. Greg Presented letter evaluating qualifications of three low
bidders for the library. All three appear to be fully
qualified to handle the library job.
2. Winfred Bonner moved that we recommend W.-D� Elliot, Inc.,
low bidder as contractor. Linda Davis seconded motion.
Motion passed.
3. Parker reported that some applications have been received
for the postion of Director of Library Services. Report
will be given on December-2,1986 at regular board meeting.
4. After decision is made by city council, the selected contractor
will be invited to the December 2, 1986 board meeting.
Meeting adjourned.

MEMORANDUM
TO: Library Board Directors, Mayor Colbert and City Council
Members
FROM: J. Parker McCollough
DATE: November 18, 1986
SUBJECT: Bids for Library Construction
On November 17, 1986, bids were opened for the construction
of the Public Library. I am enclosing a copy of the breakdown.
There were 16 bidders for this project, and we were pleased with
the numbers and the bids.
During the remainder of this week, the architects will be
contacting the top three bidders for references and other pertinent
information to assist the Board so that we may make a
recommendation to the Council. The Board has scheduled a meeting
at 12:00 noon, on Monday, November 24, 1986, at the library to
review the bids with the architects.
At that meeting, we plan to make a determination as to our
recommendation for presentation to the Council at the meeting on
Tuesday, November 25.
I would encourage each of you to attend the board meeting on
Monday, and provide us with any input that you might have
concerning this matter. Again, we are very pleased with the bids.
