GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY
Library Board Meeting - August 4, 197 at 12:00 noon
Members present. Nancy Snead, Marjorie Herbert, Linda Davis, Marjorie Youngman,
Winfred Bonner, Parker Mccollough, Dorian Sullivan, Judy Duer
Guests. Greg Ibanez, Hartley Sappington
Old Business:
1. Greg presented: example of plaque. Marjorie Herbert moved that we change
chairman to chairperson. Motion seconded by Linda Davis. However, motion
did not pass,
2. Greg presented drawing of seating area for courtyard. Majority felt we should
stay with present plan of sodding courtyard area with no planned seating area
within courtyard at the present time.
3. Greg suggested that he work with Judy on a fact sheet to release to press
which will clear up misconceptions of building costs, size, seating capacity, etc.
New Business
1. Judy proposed new hours of operation. Dorian moved we accept these hours.
Motion seconded and approved.
2. Judy presented Library Meeting Room and Board Foam Policy with change of no
booking more than, 60 days in advance. Unanimously accepted.
3. Board moved to accept Marjorie Herbert's letter requesting gifs or donations.
4. Date of October 4 set as day of grand opening.
Meeting adjourned at 1 00 P.M.
