GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY
Library Board Meeting - Tuesday, September 1, 1987 at 12:00 noon
Members present: Linda Davis, Gwen Morrison, Nancy Snead, Marjorie Youngman,
Nancy Benold, Dorian Sullivan, Parker McCollough, Winfred Bonner,
Marjorie Herbert, Hartley Sappington (City liaison)
Old Business:
1. Greg reported that building will be certified for final acceptance by
end of this week. Contractor has one year warranty on building and
furnishings.
2. Nancy Snead reported on Grand Opening October 4th from 3 to 5. Speakers
Will be: Parker McCollough - Master of Ceremonies
Mayor - Jim Colbert, Bill Gooch, Bill Conner
3. Marjorie Herbert presented bids on refreshments for open house from
Cafe on Square, Benchmark, and Laurie Locke. Board voted and accepted
Laurie Locke's bid of $600 for 500 people.
New Business:
1. Gwen is going to report back at October meeting on status of C.D.'s
at various banks.
2. Judy reported that automation is progressing. Top three vendors will
be selected by Feb. 5, 1988.
3. New lay representative will be Nancy Snead with Winfred Bonner as alternate.
4. Meeting Room policy will stand as previously approved by board.
5. Judy confirmed that the move from old library to new will be Friday and
Saturday, Sept. 4th and 5th.
