GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY
Library Board Meeting - Tuesday, November 3, 1987 at 12:00 noon
Members present: Gwen Morrison, Marjorie Youngman, Nancy Snead,
Linda Davis, Marjorie Herbert, Parker McCollough,
Judy Duer, Dorian Sullivan, Hartley Sappington
1. Judy reported on automation. Request for proposal was issued
Oct. 23 with deadline for reply being Jan. 11. Evaluation
committee will meet to evaluate replies on Jan. 16 at 1:00.
2. We have received tentative approval from GTE on grant monies
applied for. Five thousand will be received now and five
thousand near the end of the year.
3. Meeting room was booked 6 times during the month of October
with 8 meetings being held in the Board Room.
4. Brenda Miller has been hired as Children's librarian. Doug McLean
is our new library aide.
5. Marjorie Youngman reported on meeting with Mrs. Paris, repre-
sentative of Williamson Co. Art Guild. Members are interested in
displaying art provided the name of artist and price be displayed.
Board is not interested in being libel and would prefer not dis-
playing price. Marjorie Herbert moved that we accept art from the
Art Guild provided the Guild assumes total liability and displays
one small sign on each picture with information as to whom to contact.
Library Director has authority to accept or decline art. Motion carried.
6. Gwen reported on status of C.D.'s: Citizens matures 11/10/87; Certified
matures 4/6/88; FNB matures 11/25/87. Another C.D. at FNB matures 7/16/88.
Motion made to consolidate C.D. maturing on 11/10/87 with C.D. maturing on
11/25/87, and place at FNB for 6 months. Motion carried.
NEXT MEETING WILL BE TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 1987 AT 12:00 NOON
