BEGINNING GENEALOGY COURSE
PROPOSED: FALL, 1988
I would like to teach a daytime class at the Georgetown Public,'-**
Library this fall. An 8-hour course could be worked into four,,.
two-hour segments on Wednesdays: October 5, 12, 19, 26 from;..
10:00-12:00 AM. (I am flexible as to days and times.).1I do not.'.'.
have a -limit on enrollment: I can teach 5 or 50!, I wou'Id, -like.'
.. '
to charge $10 per person, simply to cover my.time and.expense's...*...
If I could have a,sign-up sheet and small promotional siqn, oini,,the
counter, plus be included in your publicity about the,.:Librar*' I
yV
feel that there would be no problem in filling the class -and-_
stimulating interest in library use.
I would also be available to teach a course for working people
on one or two Saturdays in October. A sign-up sheet for those -
interested would help scheduling.
'I have a BA in Social Sciences, Secondary Education from Baylor
University, have taught high school in the Austin Independent
School System, and am an the staff of the Mood -Heritage Museum
I have worked on family:
history for 12 yearsv have taken numerous
seminars, and have been active in DAR, DRTI and the Williamson
County Genealogical Society. Last fall, I taught my -first
"Beginning Genealogy" course to 16 adults through the Georgetown
Community Education Program. I have found, however, that most
people interested in Genealogy would rather take a daytime class,
rather than a class at night.
Please.let me know regarding your interest in this course.
Sincerely,
Sharon Duncan (Mrs. Bill)
