Library Board Meeting, June 5, 1990, 5:30 p.m.
Present: Nancy Based, Nancy Benold, Robert. Hri°k Mary Beth
Huber, Marcus Pritchett, Marjorie Youngman, Amelia Washington,
Judi Shanklin, Hartley Sappington, and Peg Honeycutt
The meeting was called to order at 5:50 p.m. after the members
made a sandwich provided by Nancy Snead and Mary Beth. Huba.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. The minutes of the May meeting were approved.
2. Peg Honeycutt, the actingi r ry Director, reviewed the Last
monthly report prepared by Judy Du r.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Mary Beth Huber submitted her resignation from the board as
she has applied for the Library Director's is it : n. After
discussion, the board felt It only necessary for per to be
excused daring the last part of the meeting when the applications
were being reviewed.
2� Judy doer had sent a letter to the board and Hartley
Sappington suggesting raises for ourpart-time employees it the
next budget cycle$ The letter was read by Nancy Snead. After
discussion, a motion was made by Marcus Pritchett and seconded by
BobHoick that a letter front the board supporting this
memorandum be submitted with budget request.
3. Peg Honeycutt then reported of the damage to our computer
system y the recent electrical storm. It took five days to
repair and get the system back can line the board commends the
staff for working the weekend to get all the books checked back
in and on the shelves. Leg then recommended we ask for a Telxon
knack system In our budget request. The price would be
$2475.00 plusa $252.00 aural maintenance fee.
4. Peg Honeycutt and Mary Beth fluba were excused from the
meeting room it the other members remained to consider the
applications for the Library irecst 's position,
The meeting was adjourned at p.m. The next Board meeting
will be July 3, 1990 at 12:00 p.m.
