GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
December 10, 1991 12:00 noon
Georgetown Public Library Board Room
Present: Nancy Snead (presiding), Jean Marie Mendez, Tomi
Spence, Pat Ball, Mary Beth Huba, Morton King, Judi Shanklin, Mary Pat
McLaughlin,
Absent: Robert Horick
The meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m.
1. Morton King moved that the minutes of the previous meeting
be approved as mailed. Jean Marie Mendez seconded, motion passed
unanimously.
2. Mary Pat McLaughlin reported on items purchased for the
library.
so3. The treasurer's report was tabled until January when Judi
Shanklin will be able to present the figures for a full year.
4. Mary Pat informed the Board that changes to comply with the
American's with Disabilities Act will cost approximately $430.00,
which will come from city funds.
Southwestern University's library is now limiting hours for
high school students. Mary Fat and her staff will monitor the effect
this new policy has on our library.
The City Council will be discussing changing the terms of
Library Board members from 3 years to 2 years to comply with the city
charter. Mary Pat will inform the Board of the Council decision.
5. The Board accepted a letter of resignation from Amelia
Washington (effective November 14), who is moving away from
Georgetown.
The meeting adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
