HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_LAB_05.14.1991• GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD May 14, 1991, 12:00 noon Library Board Room Present: Nancy Snead (presiding), Jean-Marie Mendez, Amelia Washington, Tomi Spence, Robert Horick (arrived late), Mary Pat McLaughlin. Absent: Judi Shanklin, Morton King, Mary Beth Huba, Pat Ball. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 when Robert Horick arrived, making a quorum. Before this time, Mary Pat McLaughlin asked for clarification from the Board of the Library's VIP status, and on the issuance of cards to institutions outside the city limits. The Board will address these issues at the next meeting. A correction was made to the minutes of the meeting of April 9. The first sentence of item number 5 was corrected to read, "The Friends of the Library had requested a letter from us to the bank indicating they were a 'part' of our Board so that they could obtain a new Bank account using our Federal ID #." Robert Horick moved that the minutes of the April 9 meeting and the April 22 special meeting be approved. Amelia Washington seconded. The minutes were approved unanimously. Tomi Spence, acting as representative for the Friends of the Library asked permission from the Board for the Friends to use the library grounds for a book sale June 7 and 8. Jean-Marie Mendez moved that approval be granted. Robert Horick seconded and the motion passed unanimously with Tomi Spence abstaining. Mary Pat McLaughlin asked for specific suggestions from Board members on budget priorities before the next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 1: 10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Tomi Spence Secretary
