WHEREAS, at a regular meetin! of the CITY COUNCIL of the Cityof Georgetown, Texas ., held a.t the City a.11 of said City, on the 14th, day of May 1956, i t was announced by Mayor , J. T. Atkin, that Mrs. Sudie Lee Robertson, had made a.n offer to the City of Georgetown, Te xas, whereby she wo ul d sell and conv ey to the said City the north one-hal f of Lot No. 5, of Block No. 51, of said City, and being the property owned by her that adjoins the City Hall property on the north, for a consideration of $6,000.00, to be pa.id in 60 monthly installments, of the sum of $100.00 ea.ch, the first insta.11.-rnent to be pa.id., on the first day of June 1956, and that each remaining installment, to become due and payable in its order, on the first day of each month, followine the due date of the last preceding installment; with the option on the part of the City, to pay all or any nttnber of the said installments, at any time, prior to maturity, shoul d it desire to do io. That ea.ch installment to bear interest from the maturity dat e ther�of a.t the rate of 6% per annum. That the said consideration, is to be secured by a vendor's lien, retained against the prperty sold, till the entire indebtedness is fully pa.irl; and to be evidenced by a vendor's • lien note, in the usual form, executed by the City. That a motion was thereupon ma.de by Alderman J. H. Compton, and secon ded by Alderman Ralph Freund, that the City accept the ea.id offer on the said terms and that the proper vendor's lien note be executed by the City , and that the Mayor 'be directed to deliver the said note to the seller when she shall have executed and delivered to the City a prop er deed to the said property, and that there be and is hereby appropiated and set apart out of the r;eneral revenues of the said Ciyy an amount suffici ent to pay off and disch§.rge the s8.id obligation, at any time that the City I.iay decide to pay same.That the said 3udie Lee Robertson, did by her deed of date May 15th, 1956, in all things comply with her said offer, and did convey to the said City the above described land, reserving in the said deed the vendor's lien above mentioned, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS, hereby promises to pay to the said Sudie Lee Robertson, or or der, the principal sum of SIX THOJTSAND D OLLARS ($6,000.00) in sixty equal monthly installments of the sum of $100.00 each, the first install ment to be due and payable on the first day of June A. D. 1956, and each succeeding installment, in its order,to be due and payable, on the first may of the month next foll owing the maturity date of the next preceding installmentJ and that the failure to pay any installment on or before the due date thereof, shall at the option of the holder of this not e mature all of the said note, That each inst all ment of said note, shall benr interest , from and after the maturity date thereof, at the rate of 61� pero.nnum. ihat the Cit y may, at its option, pay all, or any number, of the said installments., at any time prior to the due•:,date of same. That if default be ma.de in the paymen t of this note, and it be placed in the hands of an attorney for collection, an additional amount shall be added to the amount then due , a.s coll ection fees.'.l'hat this note, is given in payment of the north 1/2 of Lot No. 5 of Block No. $1, of the City of Georgetown, Texas, purchased by said City fr om Sudie Lee Robertson, by deed of even date herewith, and a vendor's Lien is retained in said deed to secure the payment of this note.
