HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 11.30.1964 - Paving Release397 PAVING CERTIFIED RELEASE THE STATE OF TEXAS, COUNTY OF WILLIA;,TSON. WHEREAS, on June 13th, 1927, an. Ordinance was passed by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, fixing; a paving lien on a certain lot then owned by J. B. Eubank, and being; Lots 7 & 8 in Block 5, Eubank Addition to said city as shown in Vol 8, page 37, Mechanic's Lien Records of Williamson County; and WHEREAS, said ordinance provided for the issuance of assignable certificates for the amount of the assessment; and WHEREAS, no.records are now available to show the assignment of the above paving certificate; and WHEREAS, W.E.Dozier, ©ntracted for said paving and was the contractor who performed the paving for the city; and WHEREAS, the City Council has good reason to believe that the above pavin7.; certificate was issued to W. E. Dozier and that J. B. Eubank paid the same but no release was ever placed on record; and WHEREAS, the City has no evidence of a claim against J. B. Eubank from and after said assessment; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is not now claiming a debt and paving lien against the above described property. Now therefore for and in consideration of the sum of one 01.00) i)ollar cash to it in hand paid by Margaret Whitmore, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the City of. Georgetown does hereby release any lien or claim that it may have by reason of the Certified Copy of an Ordinance, dated June 13th, 1927, and filed for record on June 14th, 1927, in Vol. 8, page 37 of the Mechanic's Lien Records of Williamson County, Texas, against Lot 7 in Block 5, Eubank Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas. In witness whereof, the City of Georgetown, Texas, has caused these present to be signed by its Payor, Rawleigh S. Elliott, at Georgetown, Texas, this the 30th day of November, 1964.
