C* AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ON THE JUNE 26, 1973,
V AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP, AND MAKING
V THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF THE MAP OF THE ORIG-
INAL ORDINANCE TO CHANGE 17.03 ACRES OF LAND OUT
OF THE NICHOLAS PORTER SURVEY IN THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN FROM "R -S" SINGLE FAMILY DISTRICT AND
R -P" RESIDENTIAL PLANNED DISTRICT TO "C-2-13" COMM-
ERCIAL SECOND HEIGHT DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET
FO RTH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing
the Zoning Ordinance on Wi following described real estate;
BEING a tract of land situated upon the Nicholas Porter Survey in Williamson County,
Texas; and being out of and a part of Outlot 17 in the City of Georgetown,
BEGINNING at a steel pin placed in the east right of way line of College Street
in said City, which point is the N. W. corner of Block "O" of the Shell Addition to the City
of Georgetown.
THENCE East along the north lines of Blocks O, 3, and 8 of said Addition, 829.3 feet
to a steel pin at the S. E. corner hereof.
THENCE N O deg. 11' E. 87.1 feet and N. 58 deg. 18' E. 30.6 feet to a steel pin at an
upper S. E. corner hereof.
THENCE N. 19 deg. 02' W. 1201.7 feet to a steel pin at the N. E. corner hereof.
THENCE S. 55 deg. 57' W. 389.4 feet and S. 20 deg. 13' 30" W. 408 feet to a steel pin
in the east right of way line of the aforementioned College Street.
THENCE along said east right of way line of College Street, South 638.3 feet to the
place of beginning and containing 17.03 acres.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning
Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and,
WHEREAS the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Or-
dinance on the above described property from "R -A" Single Family District and "R -P"
Residential Planned District to C -2-B, Commercial Second Height District which said meeting
was held on Tuesday, the 26th day of June, 1973; and
WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same one time in the Williamson County Sun,
a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and
place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than 15 days from the first day of such
publication; and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the
Zoning Ordinance; said approval being given by said commission on June 26, 1973; and
WHEREAS written notices were given to all of the owners of the land within 200
feet of the above described property as required by law;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning map of the City of Georgetown, be amended
so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed from "R -S"
Single Family District and "R -P" Residential Planned District to C-2-13, Commercial
Second Height District.
The enactment of this Ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of
public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal department,
it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its
present reading and adoption.
READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote, this 9th day of July, 1973.
