CRAWFORD, HARRY GOLD HUBERT BROCK DEE W. SCOTT J. D. WININGER WILLIAM EANES W. L. WALDEN and the following absent: None. 1974, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, regular designated meeting place in the City with the Mayor COUNCILMEN City Secretary 3713 A quorum being present and after the following resolution and order for election was read, Councilman Gold moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Wininger. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of this resolution and order for election, prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Scott, Eanes, Wininger, Brock, Gold; NOES: None. The Resolution and order for Flection is as follows: ORDER FOR ELECTION WHEREAS, each and all of the members of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, was duly and sufficiently notified, officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place and purpose of this meeting; and WHEREAS, proper notice of this meeting has been duly and timely posted as provided by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to call the election hereinafter ordered; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: That an election is hereby ordered to be held in the City of Georgetown on the 30th d4 day of April, 1974, which date is not less than fifteen (15) nor more than thirty (30) days0 from the date of the adoption of this resolution and order. The entire City shall constituteG.'3 U one election precinct. Said Election shall be held at the following place and the following named qualified persons are hereby appointed officers of said election VOTING PLACE ELECTION OFFICERS Georgetown Fire Station L. R. McLaughlin - Presiding Judge W. E. Edmiston - Alternate Presiding Judge The Prdsiding Judge shall appoint three clerks to assist in holding said election. Absentee voting shall be conducted at the Office of the City Secretary, in the City Hall in the City of Georgetown, for the period of time as permitted by law. The hours designated for absentee voting shall be from 8:00 a.m, to 5:00 p.m. on each day except Saturdays, Sundays, and official State holidays,, That at said election the following propositions shall be submitted in accordance with law: rPROPOSITION NO. 1 SHALL the City Counci I of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue the bonds of said City in the amount of $250,000 maturing serially over a period of years notto exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improvements to the City's Electric light system; to be issued in accordance with and secured in the manner provided by Article 1111, et seq., V.A.T.C.S., as amended, each bond to be conditioned that the holder thereof shall never have the right to demand payment of said obligation out of funds raised or to be raised by taxation, and secured by a lien on the pledge of the net revenues from the operation of the City's combined waterworks, sewer and electric light system? PROPOSITION NO.2 SHALL the City Counci I -of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue the bonds of said City in the amount of $50,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improvements to the City's waterworks system; to be issued in accordance with and secured in the manner provided by Article 1111, et seq., VA.T.C.S., as amended, each bond to be conditioned that the holder thereof shall never have the right to demand payment of said obligation out of funds raised or to be raised by taxation, and secured by a lien on and pledge of the net revenues from the operation of the City's combined waterworks, sewer and electric light system? 374 PROPOSITION NO. 3 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue the bonds of thesaid City in the amount of $4000000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improvements to the City's sewer system; to be issued in accordance with and secured in the manner provided by Article 1111, et seq., V.A.T.C.S., as amended, each band to be conditioned that the holder thereof shall never have the right to demand payment of said obligation out of funds raised or to be raised by taxation, and secured by a lien on and pledge of the net revenues from the operation of the City's combined waterworks, sewer, and electric light system? PROPOSITION NO. 4 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $75,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of such City Council, for the purpose of constructing a public building to be used as a City warehouse, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity? PROPOSITION NO. 5 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $100,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing a public building to be used as a Sub Fire Station, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity? PROPOSITION NO. 6 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $150,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing street improvements Andice Road), and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem .them at maturity? PROPOSITION NO. 7 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $25,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing, interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the .purpose of constructing street improvements within Urban Renewal Area), and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity? PROPOSITION NO. 8 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $25,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Counci I, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improvements to the City's waterworks system (within Urban Renewal Area), and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity? 0 V 37> PROPOSITION NO. 9 SHALL the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $25,000 maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed 30 years from their date, bearing interest at such rate or rates as shall be determined within the discretion of said City Council, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improve- ments to the City's sewer system (within Urban Renewal Area), and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity? That said election shall be held and conalucted in effect as two separate but simult- aneous elections, to wit: One elction at which only the resident qualified voters who own taxable property in the City and who have duly rendered the some for taxation shall be entitled to vote, and another election at which all other resident qualified voters of the City shall be entitled to vote. The votes cast at each said separate but simultaneous election shall be recorded, returned and canvassed separately. Where the term "election" is used in this resolution and order for election, it shall mean the separate but simultaneous elections. In further explanation, if need be, the taxpaying voters vote in one box and the non -taxpaying voters vote in the other box. Regular voting will be from 8:00 a.m, to 7:00 p.m. That a substantial copy of this resolution and order for election shall serve as proper notice of said election and said notice shall be pposted at the City Hall and at two (2) other public places within the City not less than fourteen (14) full days prior to the date on which said election is to be held, and said notice shall be published on the same day in each of twosuccessive weeks in a newspaper published in the City of Georgetown, the first of said publications to be made not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date set for said election. The manner of holding said election shall be governed, as near as may be, by the Texas Election Code, as amended, except as modified by applicable law.
