HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.17.2026 CC-SMinutes of the City Council City of Georgetown, Texas Monday, August 17, 2026 The Georgetown City Council met on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Council and Court Building, 510 W. 9th Street. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The following Members were in attendance: Amanda Parr, Kevin Pitts, Ben Stewart, Jake French, Josh Schroeder, and Doug Noble. Councilmembers Bent Butler and Ron Garland were absent. Agenda Notice This is a Special Called Meeting of the City Council ordering a Special Election to be held on November3, 2026. 1. Regular Session Mayor Schroeder called the meeting to order at 3.30 p.m. l.a Second Reading - Call for Election of Street Maintenance Sales Tax renewal Second Reading of an Ordinance ordering a Special Election to be held on November 3, 2026 for the purpose of seeking voter response to the proposition of "The Reauthorization of the Local Sales and Use Tax in the City of Georgetown, Texas, at the Rate of One -Fourth of One Percent to Continue Providing Revenue for Maintenance and Repair of Municipal Streets", providing for the City to contract with the Williamson County Elections Administrator to conduct said Election, making other provisions relating to the Election and providing an effective date - Robyn Densmore, City Secretary and Wesley Wright, Systems Engineering Director Densmore presented the item and noted that there had been no changes since the first reading. Moved by Kevin Pitts; seconded by Jake French to approve as presented.
