She worked for the Round Rock Public Library for the past nine years. She was one of their children's librarians for seven years, then moved into doing collection development and most recently was the head of technical services. Her experience works very well with the role she will have at our library. • Kate Di Pronio has been hired as a cataloging librarian. She will begin work October 13. She presently works at the Leander Public Library and has good cataloging experience. • The Friends have their committee infrastructure in place for the next annual book sale and they have begun accepting donations of books. The sale will be held May 13-15 at the Community Center in San Gabriel Park. They are storing the books that they collect in the blue City building that is just across 8 th Street from the library. • At their meeting on September 23, the City Council accepted the proposed long-range facilities plan. A library building is the first priority on that plan. An architect will be hired shortly after the beginning of the new fiscal year to draw up plans for several City facilities, including the library. STAFF ACTIVITIES • On September 12, Eric Lashley and Judy Parks attended the fall membership meeting of CTLS that was held in Round Top. VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES • Four new volunteers began working during September. All will be helping with shelving or keeping the sale shelves and magazine exchange bins filled. The library currently has 42 active volunteers. • Bernie Baurnbach finished indexing the first municipal court book from the newly uncovered City archives and has begun working on an index for the Council minutes and ordinance book. • GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY Comparative Fiscal Year Statistics 2002 Patron Visits Oct Nov Doc Jan Fab Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sap nn Ausl Total Current Year 17509 14213 12863 17703 ,y@¢g 21480 19473 10207 22940 27268 17111 18570 224208 2001.2D02 2000.2001 17185 15144 11835 17004 j,$ j2 12215 17914 18585 19877 20225 15676 15356 206478 1009.2DD0 18869 14407 13093 12030 11335 12008 11210 14330 0 14652 16601 19607 20221 191D4 22600 10326 13443 183290 (3tenotosbolow 20320 15096 13257 21728 11624 18377 15688 184425 ropwdmg bamc tours) Clrculatlon 2002 Current Year 28590 23345 20787 27485 21411 28250 25450 27751 32478 34618 25197 25260 318820 2001.2002 2000.2001 27339 22570 19700 27439 2'„,a,"j 28824 28495 201M 33528 34915 27489 25171 330503 1099.2000 23446 20744 21099 21590 20707 27275 26080 30148 24711 29318 34323 34165 26072 24892 322238 17143 21016 22393 23938 20583 22402 31177 28733 23364 23352 276453 PY 2002.2003 Statistics Ghildren"s Programs Attendance 948 491 467 718 659 030 487 930 1878 2293 0 395 Annual Total Programs 3 3 3 0 7 3 1 2 7 6 0 10071 Story Time 11 5 6 11 4 9 11 7 12 10 0 0 35 Other (Tour, Movies.
