Ruth Roberts made a motion to amend the minutes to reflect that Paul Gaffney would call both of the speakers (Lea Rothrock and Larry McCormick) from the previous meeting to let them know we are not able to produce events at this time. Richard Bartko seconded the motion and was unanimously passed. 2. Mary Louise Paquette spoke on the Ventura Project which is similar to the proposed Artspace project in Georgetown (Project 1900). She discussed the Ventura Cultural Arts plan and gave a short overview of Artspace 3. Paul Gaffney noted that he had contacted both Lea Rothrock, who was indeed looking for a sponsor for her film festival, and Larry McCormick, who is interested in receiving the board's support for Project 1900. Rich Bartko indicated that he would like to be the liaison to Project 1900. 4. Paul Gaffney asked if it was allowed to e-mail reports of findings among the Board members Eric Lashley mentioned that this was a question for the City Attorney. In the past it has not been looked on favorably to e-mail to groups Discussion continued on this subject. Eric Lashley said he would get an opinion from the City Attorney. 5. Paul Gaffney led discussion to set the next meeting. It was decided that December 7 from 2.00- 4:00 would be the next meeting 6. Paul Gaffney read Addie Busfield's updated motion for arts award certificates. Discussion continued. Revisions took place to read: "That the Board, with the approval of the City Council, send certificates of appreciation for the purposes of thanking and recognizing extraordinary contributions to the arts and culture of Georgetown. ' The motion was seconded by Jane Voltz and passed unanimously. Discussion made it clear that these certificates would be rare and only for outstanding contributions; they would honor the event or contribution, not necessarily individuals. Board members will nominate those contributions in Board meetings and a discussion and vote will determine whether the proposed recognition is warranted. When an event is so recognized, the Board will discuss and decide to whom the certificate is given. The Board's intention is to design its own cei tificate, have it approved by the Council, and for the certificates to bear a written citation, the signatures of the A&C Board Chair and of the Mayor, and bear the City seal. 7. Eric Lashley asked the board when they wanted to take the arts award to City Council. December 13 is the next meeting. 8. Discussion by Judy Fabry on whether the survey of local arts organizations would include individual artists. 9.
